Hirakud Dam

Hirakud Dam is built across the Mahanadi River, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Sambalpur in the state of Odisha in India. It is the longest earthen dam in the world. Behind the dam extends a lake, Hirakud Reservoir, 55 km (34 mi) long. It is one of the first major multipurpose river valley projects started after India’s independence. the dam was completed in 1953 and was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on 13 January 1957. The total cost of the project was ₹1,000.2 million

Tipakhol Waterfall

Tipakhol Waterfall is situated next to Jindal Colony, Raigarh. This is a lake which is situated in the middle of the mountains. During the rains, water comes out of the mountains like a spring and enters this lake. This lake is very famous among the people, people come here for photoshoots, video shoot and birthday celebrations and for sightseeing. Boating facility is also available in this lake. This lake is very beautiful because it is situated in the middle of mountains and forests.

Baba Dam

Baba Dham is a religious place situated in Kosamnara, Raigarh. This place is based on the renowned devotee of Lord Shiva i.e. Shri Satyanarayana baba. Shree Satyanarayan Baba was born on 12th July, 1984 at Dumarpali village (Devari), Raigarh District (Chhattisgarh) in a farmer Sahu family.

Babaji, started His meditation from 16th February 1998 under open sky never moved under any shelter and without consuming food.  Under all weather conditions, it may be scorching Summer or intense Rain or extreme Cold, He sits only in the place where he started His meditation.  And, He does not even sleep! With the stanch faith in Lord Shiva, He cut himself His tongue and sat in meditation in front of a “Shiv Linga”, and continues His meditation with strict silence for the well-being of the entire society.

Chandrahasini Devi Temple

Chandrahasini Devi temple is one of the 52 Shaktipeeths and here Durga Mother is immortalized as a moonhasini (smiling moon). Due to the face of the Moon, its fame is known by the name of Chandrahasini and Chandrasini mother. Hindus have great faith and deep reverence on Mother Moon.

Gajamar Pahadi Mandir

Gajamar Pahadi mandir is one of the highest situated Hanuman temple of Raigarh. The Path leading to temple is covered with dense forest and it consists of approximately 500 stairs. It is one of the ancient temples of Raigarh, which has been renovated certain number of times. It is famous for its beauty and the view of the city from the hill, specially in the winters with fog and mist. Some People climb the stairs daily as a part of their fitness routine and some perform yoga too in the temple premises.
